The two sides to an account manager's role

Libby Greaves says her account manager role is two-sided, ensuring constant channels of communication between Property Perspective’s housebuilder clients and their customers when selling their existing homes.

Libby, 22, from Lymm has been part of the account management team at Property Perspective since 2018 and was promoted from assistant account manager in September last year.

Since then she’s been instrumental in guiding clients and their customers through the home selling journey, undaunted by a global pandemic, and has enjoyed building her own relationships.

Can you briefly explain what your job involves at Property Perspective? 

We’re here to keep our housebuilder clients as closely involved in their customers’ house sales as possible so they know when the customer is ready to proceed with the purchase of one of their new-build homes. 

The other side to the role is arranging to value, market and sell a customer’s existing home within our 40-day time frame. We want to make the whole procedure as worry-free as possible and communicate throughout the whole process, so customers are never left wondering where we’re up to.

How have you found the last year and working through a Pandemic? 

The last year has been different to anything anyone in the industry has experienced before. It’s certainly been a learning curve for me, especially as I was promoted during the pandemic so starting a new role and adapting to new ways of working as an account manager was eye opening. 

Last year was supposed to be a big year personally too as I was meant to travel to Sri Lanka to visit family and I also started planning my wedding, however that was all put on hold. I’m hoping this year brings more positivity!

What changes have you had to adapt to while working through Covid? Has your role changed in any way? 

Our roles have changed in many ways as a huge amount of time was spent providing reassurance and a trusted perspective to our customers who were selling homes during the pandemic.

I’ve been asked many new questions and experienced new scenarios but one of the most positive things that’s come out of the past year is the huge demand the property industry has seen.  At Property Perspective we’ve been busier than ever and we’ve been selling homes in some of the fastest times ever too.

What do you enjoy most about your job? 

Without question, the team I work with. We all work together so well and there is someone always there to help you when it’s needed. I also love when you manage to get a house sale over the line, it is very rewarding. 

Do you have any tips for homeowners looking at moving home in the coming months? 

Some people are sceptical to buy and sell at the moment as they think it’s an uncertain time, but the reality is very different. 

We’ve worked throughout the pandemic, carrying out valuations, viewings and selling homes in some of the fastest times due to high demand. This is still very much the case so anyone who is looking to move to a new house should do it!
